Wednesday, August 16th. We left the dock at @ 2:00 p.m. for an afternoon fishing trip. Decided to run off shore to fish for steelhead and salmon. After fishing for 30 min. and no hits, I decided it was time to set out the # 4 copper rig off a walleye board with a chart. pro-chip & green crinkle howie fly. Five min. later the reel on the copper rig started to scream with the run of a mature king. Before we could get this fish in, the 90' rigger rod wend off with the gold 42nd spoon. Both of the fish were landed. An immature 2 year old salmon on the rigger rod, and after a 25 min. battle we landed a 30# king salmon on the copper rig. We continued on a south troll, and when we got to a 150' of water, the bite was on. We finished our fishing trip boating 7 king salmon, and missing 4 others.
